The city plans to develop the waterfront space of Pocheoncheon with a total budget of 5 billion KRW, including 4 billion KRW secured from the provincial government through the contest and additional city funds.

The 'Low-Carbon Waterfront Park Project' aims to go beyond the existing flood prevention-centered river maintenance methods and create an eco-friendly and sustainable waterfront park that citizens can enjoy in their daily lives.

The city selected three major sites within Pocheoncheon as project targets, focusing on residents' accessibility and harmony with the natural environment. It plans to maximize synergy effects by linking with the ongoing Pocheoncheon Blueway development project.

The park will be developed as an eco-friendly park combining carbon reduction green technologies such as leisure and rest facilities using solar power installations and waterfront walking trails with ecological restoration.

In particular, sustainable energy utilization methods will be introduced, such as installing solar panels on river embankments to use self-produced energy. This is expected to improve citizens' quality of life, enhance residential conditions, and revitalize local tourism.
