He added, “We plan to focus administrative efforts on balanced urban development and revitalization of the local economy through projects such as the Mulgeum District New Village project, Woongsang renewal, aerospace and defense sealant material-related businesses, support for youth, small and medium enterprises, and small business owners, as well as the installation of the Nam Mulgeum Hi-Pass IC, all of which laid the foundation last year.”

Yangsan City’s administrative operation directions for 2025 are set as follows: △ Establishing a vibrant livelihood economy foundation △ Creating a high-quality cultural, tourism, and sports city △ Realizing a warm and happy city prioritizing citizens △ Building a balanced development city where future values breathe △ Implementing field-centered communication and fair, citizen-tailored administration, all aimed at making Yangsan a better place to live.

▲ Establishing a Vibrant Livelihood Economy Foundation

First, to establish a vibrant livelihood economy foundation, the city plans to provide customized employment services tailored to different groups such as youth, middle-aged, elderly, women, and persons with disabilities; conduct comprehensive investment attraction activities focused on new growth industries and promising companies; develop new industrial complexes such as Junam General Industrial Complex and expand related facilities; revitalize the alley economy to stabilize small business owners’ livelihoods; and concentrate administrative efforts on laying the groundwork for new business development and securing future growth engines.

▲ Creating a High-Quality Cultural, Tourism, and Sports City

Efforts will also be intensified to create a high-quality cultural, tourism, and sports city. This includes promoting the “2026 Year of Visit Yangsan” linked to the city’s 30th anniversary of city status in 2026, constructing the Yangsan City Art Museum, building the Yangsan Culture and Arts Center, advancing the Hwangsan Park complex leisure project, supporting cultural artists’ activities and building cultural tourism infrastructure, hosting nationwide park golf tournaments, developing Woongsang Central Park, and establishing the Sasong Complex Community.

▲ Realizing a Warm and Happy City Prioritizing Citizens

One of the city’s most important goals is to create a welfare society without blind spots or discrimination. In the face of an unstable economic situation, efforts will be made to build a robust social welfare safety net to ensure that low-income citizens do not suffer from livelihood difficulties. Additionally, public health services will be strengthened to promote citizens’ health and prevent diseases. The Woongsang Health Branch will be upgraded to a health center to expand customized public medical services, and health and medical projects aimed at improving citizens’ health, such as infectious disease prevention and management, public and food hygiene guidance, maternal and child health, and birth encouragement, will be steadily implemented.

▲ Building a Balanced Development City Where Future Values Breathe

For balanced urban development, the city plans to lead regional balanced development through planned urban development and spatial restructuring, including the 2030 Yangsan Urban Management Plan (revised), the Busan National University Yangsan Campus Spatial Innovation Zone pilot project, and the Jeungsan District Urban Development project. In particular, to improve residential conditions and balanced development in East Yangsan, projects such as establishing a basic plan for the renovation of the aging planned city in Samho-dong, creating the Yangsan Arboretum, developing the Yongdang Historic District cultural tourism belt, and establishing the Jujin Light Park will be promoted. Furthermore, a carbon-neutral green growth basic plan will be established, and projects such as modernization of resource recovery facilities and expansion of biogas facilities will be carried out to create a pleasant urban environment.

▲ Implementing Field-Centered Communication and Fair, Citizen-Tailored Administration

The city will strive to expand opportunities for citizen participation in administration, gather diverse opinions from all walks of life, and realize citizen-tailored communication administration by increasing citizen participation. It will also practice fair and transparent integrity in Yangsan and implement clean administration to create a happy and honest city for its citizens. Additionally, by providing citizen-tailored civil service administration that responds to various civil complaint demands, administrative service convenience will be expanded. The city plans to listen more attentively to the vivid voices of citizens and carry out impressive administration that approaches citizens closely.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, “We will closely re-examine the progress of our pledges in line with changes in domestic and international policy environments and actively reflect voices from the field to deliver results that citizens can feel.” He added, “Given the politically and socially unstable and chaotic situation, we will do our utmost to minimize social conflicts, stabilize the economy, and support vulnerable groups so that citizens experience no inconvenience in their daily lives.” He concluded, “With a wholehearted and sincere effort, I will carry out citizen-centered administration with the spirit of ‘Il-nyeom Tong-cheon (一念通天),’ which means that if one’s sincere intention reaches the heavens, any task can be accomplished.”
