Former Head of AWS Global Partner Organization
AI and cloud company Megazone Cloud announced on the 2nd that it has appointed former Amazon headquarters executive Yeom Dong-hoon as its new CEO.
New CEO Yeom will oversee the overall business operations of Megazone Cloud and lead its global growth. The company will also actively expand new businesses based on generative AI services.
Megazone Cloud founder CEO Lee Joo-wan will serve as the chairman of the board. He will focus on preparing for the initial public offering (IPO), pioneering new business areas, establishing future strategies, and discovering investment opportunities. Hwang In-cheol, who previously led the Amazon Web Services (AWS) business division, will take on the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), responsible for the sales of domestic operations and overseas subsidiaries.
CEO Yeom, who majored in electrical engineering and computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has built nearly 30 years of experience at global companies such as Amazon and Google. He is recognized as a forward-looking technology industry leader who has driven digital innovation and strategic partnership development. While leading the AWS global partner organization, he managed a team overseeing a global ecosystem of over 100,000 partners and more than doubled partner-contributed revenue.
Prior to this, during his tenure as CEO of AWS Korea, he achieved the establishment of data centers in South Korea ahead of countries with large markets such as India, the United Kingdom, and France. Under his leadership, AWS Korea grew into a market leader with an overwhelming share of the domestic enterprise cloud service market.
CEO Yeom stated, "Along with expanding the various businesses that Megazone Cloud has built into the global market, I will also work to ensure that our work systems and culture evolve accordingly."
