On the 2nd, the Military Manpower Administration announced that if there are direct male descendants born in 2007 who turn 18 this year, they must report their enlistment into the military service preparation category. Additionally, if there are changes in family relationships such as adoption, the current military service status must be reported as of the reporting date. Reports on changes in military service status can be submitted directly to the reporting agency or online through the Military Manpower Administration's website.
Kim Jong-cheol, Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, stated, "To prevent the misuse of public office to evade military service unfairly and to foster a culture of voluntary military service compliance, we will operate the military service status reporting and disclosure system for high-ranking public officials accurately and transparently."
