Gyeonggi-do Significantly Increases Safety Budget for Multi-family Housing

Gyeonggi Province has significantly increased its budget for apartment safety this year.


On the 2nd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has allocated a total of 14.05 billion KRW for apartment safety this year, including 12.5 billion KRW for supporting repairs of common facilities in apartments and reinforcing safety facilities such as fire prevention, and 1.55 billion KRW for safety inspections of small-scale apartments. This is more than a 7% increase compared to last year.

First, support will be provided for the repair of common facilities in 94 aging apartment complexes and the reinforcement of fire and safety facilities in 200 complexes. Major support projects include ▲relocation of charging facilities ▲asphyxiation fire extinguishers ▲lower sprinkler devices ▲fire detection CCTV ▲replacement of aging detectors, among others.


In addition, safety inspections will be conducted for 211 small-scale apartment complexes.


Gyeonggi Province also plans to implement support projects to improve the treatment of apartment management workers, providing air conditioner installation costs to 124 locations this year.


The support target for common facility repair costs is apartments that have been completed for more than 15 years. Applications for support for fire safety facilities and security office air conditioner installation costs are available for all apartments. For detailed information on how to apply, please contact the apartment department of the respective city or county office.


Park Jong-il, head of the Apartment Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "With the increased budget this year, practical support has become possible," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a safe and pleasant living environment in apartments."
