[Weather] Mostly Cloudy in Gwangju and Jeonnam

Gwangju and Jeonnam will continue to experience mostly cloudy weather.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 1st, the first day of the new year saw mostly clear and mild weather. However, temperatures are expected to drop again from the afternoon, and the morning low temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing for the time being.

Most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam will be on the edge of a high-pressure system moving southeast from northern China on the 2nd, resulting in mostly cloudy conditions.

The morning low temperatures are expected to be: Gokseong -4°C, Hwasun -3°C, Jangseong, Damyang, Yeonggwang, Gurye, Naju, Yeongam, Jangheung, Boseong -2°C, Gwangju, Hampyeong, Muan, Haenam, Gangjin, Goheung, Suncheon -1°C, Gwangyang 0°C, Mokpo, Jindo, Wando 2°C, and Shinan 3°C.

The daytime high temperatures will be: Gwangyang, Goheung 11°C; Jangheung, Gangjin, Wando, Yeosu, Suncheon 10°C; Gurye, Boseong, Haenam 9°C; Gwangju, Jangseong, Damyang, Gokseong, Hwasun, Hampyeong, Shinan, Naju, Muan, Jindo 8°C; Yeonggwang, Mokpo 7°C, which is slightly lower than the previous day.

Waves on the sea will reach about 0.5 meters in the coastal waters of the West and South Seas. Fine dust levels in both Gwangju and Jeonnam will be 'moderate,' while ultrafine dust levels will be 'bad.'

An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, "As the morning temperatures in inland Jeonnam remain below freezing and strong winds make it feel even colder, please take extra care of your health."
