New Year's Address by Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party

Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, promised on the 1st to strive for national stability and the restoration of trust.

In his New Year's address that day, Chairman Kwon stated, "Although we have welcomed a new year that should be joyful and exciting, the reality before us is extremely difficult," and added, "As the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the ruling party responsible for national affairs, I can only express my apologies to the people for the current situation."

He said, "The prosperity and development of the Republic of Korea today is the result of our people overcoming countless crises and adversities with indomitable will," and "I believe that the challenges before us now can also be overcome if we unite with one heart."

Chairman Kwon stated, "The ruling party, People Power Party, will take the lead," and said, "We will work more closely with the government and devote all efforts to stabilizing the chaotic national administration." He continued, "We will take even more meticulous care of the difficult livelihood issues, respond swiftly to international affairs, and do our best to ensure the recovery of our economy."

He also promised to restore trust. He pledged, "We will devote ourselves to regaining the people's trust in our party," and "While seeking party unity and stability, we will tighten the reins of change and reform even more firmly to meet the public's expectations."

2025 Emergency Response Committee Chairman New Year's Address

Respected citizens and party comrades, this is Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party.

The year 2025, the ‘Year of the Blue Snake,’ has dawned.

Just as the red sun brightly illuminates the world on the first day of the new year, I hope that hope and happiness fill every corner of the Republic of Korea.

Although we have welcomed a new year that should be joyful and exciting, the reality before us is extremely difficult.

The international situation is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to foresee even a moment ahead, and the ongoing political turmoil in our country is pushing livelihoods and the economy into crisis.

As the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the ruling party responsible for national affairs, I can only express my apologies to the people for the current situation.

Moreover, with the recent tragic accident, the hearts of our people must be even heavier.

I pray for the repose of the victims who lost their lives in the unfortunate accident and offer my deepest condolences to their bereaved families.

We will ensure swift accident response, thorough fact-finding, and establish definite measures to prevent recurrence.

We will also spare no support in comforting the grief of the bereaved families.

On the last day of last year, the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties agreed to promptly activate a ‘National Administration Consultative Body’ to address livelihood issues.

We will do our utmost to achieve tangible results.

Furthermore, we will devote ourselves to regaining the people's trust in our party.

While seeking party unity and stability, we will tighten the reins of change and reform even more firmly to meet the public's expectations.

In the ‘Year of the Blue Snake,’ the People Power Party will run and run again to protect the people, overcome national difficulties, and open a new future.
