The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) conducted a satisfaction survey targeting elementary school teachers who participated in the ‘2024 Parent Sharing Program.’ As a result, the satisfaction rate regarding the program’s structure was very high at 96.7%, showing a 1.7 percentage point increase compared to last year.

In particular, 93.5% of respondents indicated that the program was helpful for the curriculum, demonstrating its effectiveness in the educational field.

Satisfaction with the professionalism of parent sharing instructors (94%) and their attitude toward students (96.2%) was also very high. Satisfaction with the program’s operation method was 95.1%, reflecting overall high satisfaction.

Analysis of the participating teachers’ experience showed that teachers with over 15 years of experience had the highest participation rate at 70.1%, while those with less than 5 years of experience had a relatively low participation rate of 6.5%. This suggests that experienced teachers are more aware of the effectiveness of the Parent Sharing Program.

Regarding the intention to apply for the 2025 program, 93.5% of teachers expressed a desire to continue participating, indicating the program’s potential for sustained growth. Teachers suggested improvements such as conducting classes tailored to each grade level and providing application opportunities more than twice a year.

The survey was conducted online from the 6th to the 12th, covering 17 questions, with 184 teachers who used the program participating.

The Parent Sharing Program is a program where parents donate their talents to foster students’ creativity and problem-solving skills. Especially, the popularity of Havruta reading guidance is high, leading to an increase in applicants every year. This year, the program was operated for 756 hours at 108 schools and 7 community child centers, expanding by 27.1% compared to the previous year.

Started in 2017, this program involves 105 parents participating in three courses: play education, reading guidance, and creative board games.

The Parent Sharing Program supports students to proactively solve problems and develop creative thinking skills through various play and experiential activities linked to the school curriculum. It particularly provides diverse activities that are difficult to experience in regular classes, enhancing learning interest and self-directed learning ability.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “Based on the results of this satisfaction survey, we will enhance the satisfaction of students and teachers and activate parent participation to create a healthy school culture.”
