Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the site of the completed old staircase renovation at 113 Mallijae-ro, Mapo-gu, on the afternoon of December 30th to conduct a final inspection of the facility along with related officials.
This renovation project was carried out to improve the previously steep and hazardous stairs, ensuring safe movement for the elderly and those with mobility difficulties.
The slope of the existing stairs was reduced from 32.2 degrees to 23.7 degrees, and anti-slip non-slip treatment and handrails were installed to strengthen fall prevention measures.
While touring the site, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “I am pleased to provide residents with a safer and more convenient walking environment through this renovation,” adding, “We will continue to promote projects aimed at the safety and convenience of our residents.”
