Project Funds Delivered to Senior Welfare Center
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (hereinafter referred to as the Authority, President Park Sunghyun) announced on the 30th that it held a ceremony to deliver funds for the "4th Year Visiting Rural Mobile Welfare Project," aimed at addressing healthcare blind spots for the elderly in rural and fishing villages and providing customized welfare services.
The "Visiting Rural Mobile Welfare Project," organized by the Yeosu Senior Welfare Center (Director Kim Jinwoo), began in 2021 with financial support from the Authority. The project provides a variety of welfare services, such as health promotion services and leisure activity programs, to approximately 2,000 seniors aged 65 and older in 23 areas, including Hwayang-myeon and Sora-myeon in Yeosu.

In particular, this project is made even more meaningful by the monthly participation of YGPA Port Love Volunteer Corps members. Every year during traditional holidays, volunteers and seniors enjoy traditional games and make Songpyeon together. In the summer, the Authority’s employees join programs such as serving Samgyetang for energy recovery, organizing birthday parties, and operating the "Love Food Truck" for seniors.
President Park Sunghyun stated, "We will continue to actively support the health and happiness of seniors in rural areas, and in 2025, I hope to personally participate in the programs with our employees to spend enjoyable and meaningful time with the elderly."
Meanwhile, in addition to the "Visiting Rural Mobile Welfare Project," the Authority is promoting various welfare programs for seniors in the region, such as the "Sharing Happiness, Practicing Love Lunchbox Delivery Project" and the "Support Project for Walkers (Silver Cars) for Vulnerable Seniors," to enhance healthy aging, increase social participation, and strengthen communication.
