As a result of evaluating the 5G service quality of mobile carriers, LG Uplus was found to have 12 areas, KT 7 areas, and SK Telecom 6 areas, totaling 19 locations (excluding overlaps) where download speeds slowed down, indicating poor quality zones.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 30th the results of coverage inspections and quality evaluations of 5G and LTE communication services conducted from May to December.

Evaluating 5G quality at a total of 400 locations, including 200 outdoor administrative districts and 200 major facilities, a total of 19 poor quality zones were discovered on high-speed trains such as KTX and SRT.

In these zones, the rate of 5G download transmission success falling below the standard speed (12Mbps) was over 10%. This is a level at which users may experience significant inconvenience when using online video services (OTT) and the like.
