Seodaemun-gu, Hongeun-dong Silrak Park 'Hwangma Barefoot Path' Established

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 30th that it has recently created a new so-called ‘Hwangma Barefoot Path,’ a mixture of loess and sand soil, in Sillak Park, Hong Eun 1-dong, for residents to enjoy a healthy rest in nature.

Seodaemun-gu, Hongeun-dong Silrak Park 'Hwangma Barefoot Path' Established Silrak Park Hwangma Barefoot Path newly created by Seodaemun-gu. Provided by Seodaemun-gu.

The district removed the edges of the ‘oval track’ acupressure walkway, which had low usage, and created a path by mixing loess and sand soil in a 5:5 ratio. The path is a flat barefoot trail 50 meters long and 1.8 meters wide, with a soft surface that relieves foot fatigue, allowing anyone, including the elderly, to walk safely and comfortably. For convenience, the district installed foot washing stations and benches near the barefoot path and rearranged existing sports facilities.

Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “I hope the ‘Hwangma Barefoot Path,’ a pleasant walking trail, will be loved by residents as a resting place where they can feel close to nature and improve their health.”
