Melting the Cold Wave of the 'People's Livelihood Economy'!... Seocho-gu Issues Ttaenggyeoyo, Gwanak-gu Supports Interior Improvement Costs

Seocho-gu Issues 3 Billion Won with 15% Discount up to 200,000 Won per Person... Gwanak-gu Supports 2 Million Won for Interior and Exterior Environment and Design Improvement for 250 Small Business Stores

The livelihood economy is becoming very difficult.

Due to ongoing political turmoil caused by the impeachment situation, local commercial districts are gradually freezing up toward the end of the year.

Accordingly, autonomous districts such as Seocho-gu and Gwanak-gu in Seoul have taken measures such as issuing Ttaenggyeoyo vouchers and supporting interior renovation costs to revive local commercial districts.

Seocho-gu to start issuing Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo vouchers worth 300 million KRW from 10 a.m. on January 2nd, New Year

Purchasable at a 15% discount up to 200,000 KRW per person and usable at Ttaenggyeoyo affiliated stores within the district

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it will issue 'Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo vouchers' worth 300 million KRW on January 2nd, New Year, which help save dining expenses amid rising prices and also boost sales for small business owners.

The Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo vouchers, issued at the start of the new year, can be purchased at a 15% discount off the face value from 10 a.m. on January 2nd via the Seoul Pay Plus (SeoulPay+) app.

If users download the app in advance, register as members, and link their accounts or cards, they can purchase vouchers more quickly and conveniently. Each person can purchase up to 200,000 KRW per month, and including the amount already held, can hold up to 1 million KRW. The usage period is 12 months from the purchase date; unused vouchers can be fully refunded, and if more than 60% of the face value is used, the remaining balance excluding the discount support fund will be refunded.

The Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo vouchers are exclusive to the 'Ttaenggyeoyo' delivery app and can be used at various affiliated stores within the district, including Korean, Western, and Chinese restaurants, cafes, and franchises. Detailed usage locations can be checked on the Ttaenggyeoyo app, where entering the user's address displays a list of restaurants available for delivery or takeout.

Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, "We hope this discounted issuance will help both small business owners struggling with high delivery brokerage fees and consumers. In a situation where consumption is shrinking due to high prices, we expect that discounted local vouchers will ease residents' grocery price burdens and lead to increased sales for small business owners."

Gwanak-gu to expedite store recruitment within the year to stabilize small business management

Supports up to 2 million KRW for interior and exterior environment and design improvements for 250 small business stores

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will expedite the implementation of the 'Gwanak-style Artterior Project' within this year to recover the unstable local economy caused by the National Assembly's approval of the presidential impeachment motion.

Artterior is a compound of Art and Interior, a project that supports customized improvements by reflecting design elements in the interior and exterior spaces of small business stores.

The 'Gwanak-style Artterior Project' is highly preferred, with a 90% satisfaction rate among small business owners, and has supported a total of 2,078 small business stores since 2019. Through this, small business owners facing management difficulties due to natural disasters and economic downturns have been able to renew their store atmosphere, becoming a source of hope.

The district plans to support a total of 250 small business owners next year and will expedite recruitment of about 130 stores that were not selected in the first half of this year and about 120 stores newly wishing to participate to revitalize the local economy amid the recent emergency situation.

In particular, to expand support scale, the previously art-focused Artterior projects will be unified into general environment improvement, expanding popular and highly satisfactory improvement areas such as signboards, canopies, and window sheets, which have high demand among small business owners.

Additionally, clear standards for defect repairs on improved facilities will be established, providing after-support for one year after project completion.

The newly recruited targets are about 120 small business store-type shops in Gwanak-gu with fewer than five regular employees that wish to improve interior and exterior design and environment (stores where customers visit to purchase goods and services). Support per store is up to 2 million KRW. Entertainment bars, franchises, chains, and stores participating in identical or similar projects are excluded from support.

The application period is from December 30th to January 10th of next year, and applications can be submitted by visiting the 4th floor of Gwanak-gu Office's Local Commercial District Revitalization Division or the respective community service centers. The approximately 130 stores not selected in the first half of this year will be supported through individual verification without a separate application process.

For more details, check the announcement on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Notices) or contact the Local Commercial District Revitalization Division by phone.

Furthermore, the district plans to expedite support projects in the first half of next year to respond to the domestic economic downturn. It will expand loans from the Small and Medium Business Promotion Fund early to reduce interest burdens on self-employed individuals and promptly issue Gwanak Love Gift Certificates and public delivery app (Ttaenggyeoyo) exclusive vouchers.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "We hope the early implementation of the Artterior project will help small business owners facing management instability due to the recent emergency situation, and we will do our best to stabilize livelihoods by promptly carrying out planned support projects."

Such efforts by Seoul's autonomous districts are expected to play a certain role in revitalizing local commercial districts.
