Secured 100 Million Won in Special Grant from Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Jangheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 27th that it has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" in the "2024 Local Price Stabilization Management Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 100 million KRW.
The county received the highest grade, "Grade A," in the quantitative evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for 243 local governments nationwide. This evaluation divided grades based on criteria such as △local public utility fee stabilization management △support for activation of good price businesses △inflation rate △efforts and achievements in local price stabilization.

Since being selected as an excellent institution in last year's local price stabilization management evaluation, the county has frozen water and sewage fees as well as garbage bag prices to stabilize public utility fees directly related to residents' livelihoods amid continued high inflation.
During the 17th Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival, the county operated a price gouging report center, thoroughly eradicating unfair commercial practices during the festival and perfectly managing prices during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, earning high praise.
Governor Kim Sung stated, "Being selected as an excellent institution for price stabilization management was made possible by the active cooperation of Jangheung residents," and added, "We will continue to discover a variety of regional economic revitalization policies that residents can truly feel and do our best to ensure stable management of local prices."
