Yeoju City Holds Emergency Countermeasure Meeting of Disaster Safety Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic AI Outbreak

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 27th that it held an emergency countermeasure meeting on the 26th to prevent the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) in the local community and to strengthen quarantine measures.

At the meeting, quarantine measures were re-examined based on the livestock disease field action manual, and measures were prepared to prevent further spread by actively promoting restrictions on the movement of livestock farms and refraining from entering migratory bird habitats.


Jo Jeong-ah, Vice Mayor of Yeoju City, stated, “The city must respond proactively to prevent further spread in the community and minimize damage,” and instructed all departments in the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to actively cooperate and respond jointly.


Through this emergency countermeasure meeting, Yeoju City plans to review comprehensive response measures to prevent the spread of avian influenza and ensure citizen safety, and to promote rapid and systematic quarantine work in close cooperation with related organizations.
