Signboard Awarded and Online Promotion Support Provided
Yeongam County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seunghee) has selected and announced 20 restaurants as the "2025 Yeongam Damed Matjip," representing the region with their unique menus and flavors, for tourists to enjoy.
According to the county on the 27th, a call for recommendations for "Yeongam Representative Restaurants" was issued in March, resulting in 123 establishments being nominated. Through a first round of document screening and a second round of anonymous evaluations by external experts, 100 "representative restaurants" were selected.
In particular, during the second evaluation, experts meticulously assessed the taste and presentation of the food, the hygiene and cleanliness of the establishments, and the inclusion of local specialties on the menu. Among the representative restaurants, the 20 highest-scoring establishments were introduced as the Yeongam Damed Matjip.
The county plans to support the selected Yeongam Damed Matjip by awarding plaques, providing additional points for facility improvement support, and promoting them online and through the production of leaflets.
Kim Youngjoong, head of the Tourism and Sports Division, stated, "We hope that the establishments selected as representative restaurants of Yeongam will take pride and responsibility in revitalizing Yeongam's culinary tourism," and added, "With various support and promotional efforts, we will ensure that more tourists can visit these restaurants."
