Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 27th that the bus route 3411, which connects Gangdong, Songpa, and Gangnam Samseong-dong from the first bus, will be adjusted and expanded to operate up to the Jamsil 7-dong and Daechi-dong areas.

As a result, the 3411 bus, which used to turn around at Samseong-dong passing through Jamsil, will now run through Jamsil 7-dong, including Asia Athlete Village Apartments and Aju Middle School, and cover the entire Daechi-dong area.

This route adjustment greatly improves Gangnam accessibility for Songpa residents. In particular, it is good news for Songpa-gu students who usually commute to the Daechi-dong academy district. Since there was no direct bus, many had to transfer to city buses or take the subway, spending a lot of time and effort commuting to and from school.

Also, the existing bus route was limited to areas like Teheran-ro, where traffic congestion is severe even in the Gangnam area, and there were opinions that efficiency was reduced due to overlap with Subway Line 9.

This was reflected in the route adjustment.

Parents in Songpa-gu who heard the news welcomed it, saying, “It is fortunate that children can now attend academies with less difficulty. They will be able to focus more on their studies.”

So far, Songpa-gu has made great efforts to improve residents’ convenience in moving to the Gangnam area by reorganizing bus routes. They carefully analyzed local traffic conditions and travel demand and listened to residents’ opinions. Based on this, they continuously proposed their own improvement plans to Seoul City, ultimately achieving the valuable result of route adjustment.

In addition, as a pledge project of the 8th local government, the district has been working to expand public transportation by introducing new village bus lines. Starting with the opening of the first three village bus routes in Songpa-gu in 2022, they have promoted extensions of city bus routes in Bukwirye, Geoye, and Macheon areas (Route 3422), the establishment of a new bus route in Pungnap-dong (Route 3324), and an increase in direct buses between Jamsil and the Daechi-dong academy district (Route 4319).

In the future, the district plans to increase the number of village buses to shorten intervals between buses, continuously expand convenience facilities such as boarding platforms, bus arrival information terminals, and shelters at bus stops, and focus on improving transportation welfare for residents.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We are doing our best to build a comprehensive transportation infrastructure so that all residents can conveniently travel to their desired destinations,” and added, “In the new year, we will spare no administrative support to enhance public transportation convenience directly related to residents’ lives.”
