Rep. Uh Ki-gu Announces Securing 2.2 Billion Won in Special Grants for Dangjin City from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety

20 Billion Won Allocated for Opening of Dangjin Urban Planning Road Small Road 3-204 Line (Haengjeong-dong to Chaeun-dong)

On the 26th, Representative Uh Ki-gu of the Democratic Party of Korea (Dangjin-si, Chungnam, Chairman of the National Assembly's Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee) announced that he had secured a total of 2.2 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of the year.

This includes 2 billion KRW for the construction of the Dangjin Urban Planning Road Small Road 3-204 Line (Haengjeong-dong to Chaeun-dong), a key local project, and 200 million KRW for the installation of an automatic saltwater spraying system, a disaster safety project.

The Dangjin Urban Planning Road Small Road 3-204 Line construction project aims to enhance connectivity between regions by opening a road between Haengjeong-dong and Chaeun-dong.

Currently, the road is only 3 meters wide, but there is heavy traffic, including daycare center vehicles, leading to ongoing complaints about inconvenience for residents and concerns over safety.

With the secured grant, approximately 10,000 citizens living near Haengjeong-dong and Chaeun-dong are expected to benefit, and the risk of accidents will be reduced, greatly contributing to the improvement of the safety environment.

Meanwhile, the automatic saltwater spraying system is a system that automatically sprays saltwater on roads when they freeze due to snow or rain in winter, preventing icing.

The installation of this spraying facility is expected to prevent traffic accidents caused by road icing and create a safer road environment.

Representative Uh Ki-gu stated, "I am very pleased that securing this special grant allows us to further strengthen the foundation for enhancing the safety of Dangjin citizens, disaster response capabilities, and improvements in the transportation environment," and added, "I will continue to do my best to resolve local issues and make Dangjin a safer city."
