Naver's mobile homepage creation platform 'Modoo' will end its service in June next year.
According to industry sources on the 26th, Modoo announced through a homepage notice that the service will be terminated on June 26 next year.
Naver stated, "As the usability of specialized platforms like Smart Place gradually increases, the usage by business owners and users is increasingly focused on these platforms. Therefore, Modoo will be discontinued, and we will concentrate on advancing each specialized platform to support the growth of business owners."
Modoo started its service as a beta version in April 2015. It has supported homepage creation to help business owners smoothly continue their operations during the mobile transition period. Ahead of the service termination, new registrations will be restricted from January 16 next year, and from February 3, adding new homepages will no longer be possible.
Naver plans to continue Modoo's role through services such as Place and Reservation. Naver said, "Existing sites can be maintained until the termination in June 2025, and we will provide sufficient time for smooth backup and transition."
