‘Seongdong Man’ Kim Hee-gap, Deputy Mayor of Seongdong-gu, 'Returns to His Roots'

Kim Hee-gap, known as the "Gentleman Public Official" of Seoul City, will be appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Seongdong-gu, effective January 1, 2025.

Deputy Mayor Kim is an HR expert who graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in Public Administration, entered Seoul City through the Grade 7 Public Service Examination, worked in Seongdong-gu, and then moved to Seoul City where he served as the head of the Personnel Planning Team.

With a quiet personality and strong trust from both seniors and subordinates, Deputy Mayor Kim has made a splendid comeback as the Deputy Mayor of his hometown, Seongdong-gu.

In particular, he has attracted attention for gaining experience as both predecessor and successor Deputy Mayor due to his long-standing relationship with Yoo Bo-hwa, the current Deputy Mayor of Seongdong-gu, from the Personnel Department.

Deputy Mayor Kim is also famous for his loyalty. Since serving as the secretary to Director Je Ta-ryong during his time at the Seoul City Transportation Bureau, his respectful and personable attitude has been widely praised by both seniors and juniors.

Deputy Mayor Kim has held positions such as the Seoul City Council Legislative Officer, Head of the Safety General Division, and Transportation Planning Officer.
