Promoting Job Creation by Removing Barriers Between Departments

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 26th that it held the ‘4th Guri City Job Countermeasures Headquarters Meeting of 2024’ at the Women’s Happiness Center on the 24th.

The ‘Guri City Job Countermeasures Headquarters’ was established last year to expand local employment and efficiently implement the comprehensive job plan of the 8th local government administration. Since then, it has been chaired by the Vice Mayor as the head of the headquarters, with the Director of the Economic and Finance Bureau as the job responsibility officer, and includes heads of various job-related departments and collaborating organizations, holding meetings quarterly.

The meeting, presided over by Kim Jin-hee, Director of the Economic and Finance Bureau, was attended by a total of nine people, including heads of budget support, job management, and job promotion departments, as well as officials from the Guri Agricultural and Marine Products Corporation and the Guri Youth Tomorrow Center. They discussed ▲ the review and sharing of achievements in the implementation of job projects for 2024 ▲ and the job countermeasure plans for 2025.

In particular, as a response to the reduction of direct public institution jobs due to tight local fiscal management and the worsening startup environment caused by increasing internal and external uncertainties, they explored job and startup support measures such as ▲ prioritizing the hiring of Guri citizens for fixed-term workers ▲ and collaboration plans for nurturing early-stage young entrepreneurs using the startup innovation space scheduled to open in Galmae-dong in January 2025.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “Through the regular operation of the Guri City Job Countermeasures Headquarters, we will remove barriers between departments to promote the creation of quality jobs and actively strive to implement customized job policies for each generation.”
