Gwangju Seo-gu Selects 20 ‘Good Model Senior Centers’

Evaluation of Member Management and Program Participation

Seo-gu, Gwangju City, has selected 20 exemplary senior centers within its jurisdiction.

According to Seo-gu on the 26th, exemplary senior centers are selected annually from 236 centers by evaluating accounting management, member management, and participation in senior center programs to boost the pride of elderly users.

Especially this year, the number of selected centers was expanded from 4 to 20, with plaques, certificates of selection as exemplary senior centers, and incentives being presented.

Kim Myung-sook, Director of the Aging Society Policy Division, said, “Along with the elderly of the 20 senior centers selected as exemplary, all 234 senior centers in Seo-gu can be said to be exemplary as every center takes the lead and contributes to the development of the local community,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen support so that the elderly at senior centers can feel comfortable as if they are at home.”
