Presidential Office "Difficult to Confirm Attendees"
President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Geon-hee, who have been maintaining seclusion, held a Thanksgiving service at the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, to celebrate Christmas.
According to the presidential office on the 25th, President Yoon and Mrs. Kim attended a Christmas service at the residence on the afternoon of the 24th, presided over by a pastor from a church in Seoul.
It is known that about 10 people, including church officials, attended the service.
A presidential office official said, "We understand that President Yoon held a service at the residence to mark Christmas," adding, "It is difficult to confirm which church or who attended."
Last Christmas, President Yoon visited Jeongdong First Methodist Church in Jung-gu, Seoul, to attend a Christmas service. On Christmas Eve, President Yoon posted on Facebook, "Today, many people around us are practicing Jesus' love and nurturing the spark of hope," and added, "Myself and the government will also strive harder so that the small spark can blaze into greater love."
On Christmas in 2022, he attended the Christmas service at Yeongam Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, which he attended during his elementary school years, together with Mrs. Kim.
President Yoon had originally planned to attend the service at Yeongam Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, this Christmas, but considering the impeachment political situation, he held the service at the residence. Last year, on the first anniversary of the Itaewon tragedy, President Yoon also held a memorial service at Yeongam Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
