Seosan City in Chungnam Province has announced the selection of the "Chorok Square and Yecheon District Public Parking Lot Construction Project" among the top 10 achievements that shone in 2024.
The city selected the top 10 most outstanding achievements through a first and second round of evaluations by administrative experts, citizens, and performance evaluation committee members, based on 26 achievements from each department.
This year's top 10 achievements include: the promotion of the Chorok Square and Yecheon District Public Parking Lot Construction Project, selection as the 3rd phase Hydrogen City, the first international cruise ship operation at Seosan Mohang in the Chungcheong region, and designation as a Special Education Development Zone.

With the successful operation of the first international cruise ship in the Chungcheong region, Seosan City took a step forward as an international tourist city and was selected as one of Korea's seven major ports of call. The second international cruise ship operation is scheduled for May next year.
The full-scale commencement of construction on the Daesan~Dangjin section of the Seosan-Yeongdeok Expressway, which will establish Seosan as a logistics hub on the west coast, is also underway and is being steadily pursued with the goal of opening in 2030.
As the first expressway to bear the name Seosan, once completed, it is expected to reduce travel distance by 12.6 km and save more than 20 minutes, resulting in an estimated annual social benefit of 68.8 billion KRW.
The city has also been uniquely selected as the only pilot area for the Special Education Development Zone in Chungnam Province, and plans to provide 24/7 care services year-round, promote innovation in public education, and develop regionally specialized textbooks.
