Over 500 Attendees Including Shin Jeong-taek, President of the Alumni Association; Lee Hae-woo, University President; and Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of Busan Chamber of Commerce
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) held the ‘75th Anniversary General Meeting of the Alumni Association and Dong-A Night’ event hosted by the Alumni Association (Chairman Shin Jeong-taek, Chairman of Sewoon Steel) on the 23rd at Daou Hall on the Bumin Campus.

The event was graced by the presence of President Lee Hae-woo, Alumni Association Chairman Shin Jeong-taek, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Yang Jae-saeng, and over 500 alumni representing various regional, college, department, and professional alumni associations.
Shin Jeong-taek, reappointed as the 38th President of the Dong-A University Alumni Association, said, “I extend my sincere respect and encouragement to all Dong-A family members who have shown remarkable achievements and warm support throughout the community. I hope that the 300,000 Dong-A alumni, who have contributed to the development of society and the nation across various fields, will continue to take pride as Dong-A people and move forward with even greater vigor.”
President Lee Hae-woo stated, “This year, our alma mater has made a new turning point for future development by being selected for the government’s Glocal University Project, completing the L2M platform, approaching 2,000 international students, and maintaining top admission scores within the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions. This is the result of the dedication of all members and thanks to the alumni family who always support and watch over the university’s innovation. We ask for the continued unwavering support of the Dong-A family.”
At the event, Chairman Lee Nam-gyu of Gwangmyeong Ink and Army Brigadier General Kim Yong-soo received the ‘Alumni Award.’
Additionally, 20 alumni who have contributed to the alma mater and alumni from regional, college, and professional alumni associations were awarded merit awards.
Alumni Association Chairman Shin Jeong-taek was recognized for his efforts in the development of Taekwondo and received the ‘Honorary 6th Dan Certificate in Taekwondo’ from Kim Sang-jin, President of the Taekwondo Association.
The Dong-A University Taekwondo Demonstration Team’s performance also attracted attention, and the Alumni Association awarded scholarships of 1 million won each to two students: Kang Dong-geun (3rd year, Taekwondo Department), the team captain, and Kim Chang-wook (3rd year, Taekwondo Department), the vice-captain.
