Three-Year Term... Safety Consultation for Demolition and Construction Sites

On the 23rd, at the Mudeung Hall on the 2nd floor of Gwangju City Hall, Professor Changyoung Song of Gwangju University’s Department of Architecture received a certificate of appointment from Gwangju Mayor Kijeong Kang at the inauguration ceremony of the 2nd Architectural Safety Advisory Group. Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 24th that Professor Song Changyoung from the Department of Architecture has been appointed as the head of the 2nd Building Safety Advisory Group, which will oversee the management of building safety in the Gwangju region.

At the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd Building Safety Advisory Group held on the 2nd floor of Mudeung Hall at Gwangju City Hall on the 23rd, Professor Song received his letter of appointment from Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijeong. Over the next three years, Professor Song will be in charge of overall safety management, including safety consulting for demolition and construction sites and on-site inspections related to building safety.

Professor Song is a renowned authority who combines both practical and theoretical expertise, having worked as a safety inspection expert for over 20 years and authored numerous professional books. Based on his experience in national-level building safety roles?such as a member of the Central Accident Investigation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a member of the Central Architecture Committee, and the chairman of the National Land Safety Advisory Committee?Professor Song's leadership is expected to significantly enhance the safety standards of buildings in the Gwangju area.

Professor Song stated, "The Building Safety Advisory Group will play an important role not only in providing technical advice but also in securing public trust in building safety and promoting a culture of safety in the region," and added, "I will do my utmost to create a safe building environment where all Gwangju citizens can live with peace of mind, in cooperation with experts from various fields."
