Seosan City Named 'Top Institution' in Chungnam Province Road Project Performance Evaluation

Selected as Top Institution 6 Times in the Past 7 Years... Highly Praised for Creating a Pleasant Road Environment

Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has been selected as the top institution in the "2024 Road Project Implementation Performance Evaluation" organized by South Chungcheong Province.

This evaluation selects outstanding institutions among 15 cities and counties in South Chungcheong Province by assessing the appropriateness of project planning and implementation for delegated national highways, provincial roads, city and county roads, and rural roads, as well as securing and executing project budgets.

To select outstanding institutions, both document reviews and on-site evaluations were conducted. The on-site evaluations were carried out through cross-inspections between cities and counties to ensure fairness and transparency.

This year, the city was recognized for minimizing residents’ inconveniences and significantly contributing to alleviating traffic congestion and creating a pleasant road environment by fully opening 3.86 km across eight routes of city and rural roads.

In particular, to ensure citizens’ safety, the city began reconstruction of the aging Haemi Bridge in May last year and completed it in June this year. The newly rebuilt Haemi Bridge has become a landmark bridge harmonizing with the scenery of Haemieupseong and Haemi International Holy Site.

Seosan City was selected as the top institution for five consecutive years from 2018 to 2022, and with this year’s selection as the top institution in the South Chungcheong Province road project evaluation, it has achieved the remarkable feat of being selected six times as the top institution in the past seven years.

Mayor Lee Wanseop said, “This selection as the top institution is the result of both staff and citizens caring for and cooperating with each other,” adding, “We will continue to actively gather the opinions of local residents and do our best to create a convenient, user-centered road environment.”
