Governor Lee stated, "I decided to donate the Hometown Love Contribution to our sister cities at the end of the year to show my support," and added, "I hope we can continue to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields next year."

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million won annually to local governments (both metropolitan and basic) outside their place of residence. Donations are fully tax-deductible up to 100,000 won, and amounts exceeding this are eligible for a 16.5% tax credit. Donors can also receive return gifts worth up to 30% of their donation. Starting January next year, the annual donation limit will be raised to 20 million won.
