Minister Andeok Geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is presiding over the 'Meeting of Heads of Public Institutions under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy' on the 23rd at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's large conference room in the Government Sejong Complex. Attendees include Kim Dongcheol, President of Korea Electric Power Corporation; Kang Kyungseong, President of KOTRA; Jang Youngjin, President of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation; and Jeong Donghee, Chairman of the Korea Power Exchange, along with heads of 22 institutions under the ministry's jurisdiction. On the 23rd, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a meeting of heads of public institutions under its jurisdiction at the Government Sejong Complex, chaired by Minister Andeok Geun. At this meeting, Minister An ordered key tasks to be prioritized in response to recent domestic and international uncertainties.
Minister An first instructed to strengthen safety inspections of nationally important facilities and cyber security management to ensure stable energy supply, and to thoroughly review and firmly implement the core projects each institution will focus on next year.
He also directed all employees to establish public service discipline that meets the expectations of the public to gain their trust, and to make efforts to prevent and inspect misconduct. Amid the economic downturn affecting local economies, he urged public institutions to mobilize available resources to revitalize regional economies.
Minister An emphasized, "We must devote ourselves to our main duties with extraordinary determination and attitude so that citizens and businesses can engage in economic activities with peace of mind," and especially requested "meticulous management through thorough energy facility inspections and supply management to ensure that all citizens can have a warm winter." He also instructed to carry out various local coexistence activities such as purchasing goods from traditional markets and donating to vulnerable groups.
A total of 22 heads of institutions attended the meeting, including 17 public enterprises and 5 quasi-governmental agencies under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
