Shoe Repair Stand Operators' Group 'Gwanak Nokjihoe' Donates 2 Million Won in Donations for 35th Year
City Awards Commendation to Gwanak Nokjihoe Distinguished Residents on December 20th and Offers Encouragement
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee)'s shoe repair group 'Gwanak Nokjihoe' has been delivering warm kindness to neighbors in need for 35 years, drawing attention.
Gwanak Nokjihoe is a group of shoe repair operators active in the area, and since the 1990s, they have held the 'Love Shoe Shining' event to help neighbors in need and donated the proceeds raised from the event.
This year, the 2 million won raised at the 'Love Shoe Shining' event will be donated to Gwanak-gu Office and orphanages.
The total donations accumulated over 35 years have reached 139 million won, and this year as well, they continue to practice warm love for neighbors and sustain their good deeds without fail.
Kang Gyu-hong, president of Gwanak Nokjihoe, expressed his thoughts, saying, "Although everyone is struggling due to the prolonged economic downturn, I am glad that we can continue donating through the 'Love Shoe Shining' event."
Regarding the good deeds of Gwanak Nokjihoe, on December 20th, the district held the 'Love Shoe Shining Donation Ceremony' and awarded commendations to two outstanding members of Gwanak Nokjihoe.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "I would like to express my gratitude to President Kang Gyu-hong and the members of Gwanak Nokjihoe who have consistently practiced sharing with neighbors in need for a long time," and added, "I hope that the warm hearts and voluntary sharing culture to help neighbors in need will spread widely in our society, and our district will also join in."
