Husband Asks About Suspicious Sound on Black Box... Wife Says "I Ate Ice Cream"

Evidence of an Affair Captured on Black Box
Instead, Indiscriminate Lawsuits Filed for 'Assault and Threat Charges'

A husband shared his story of how his wife, who had an affair with a coworker, is now indiscriminately filing lawsuits against him.

On the 22nd, JTBC's 'Case Manager' introduced the story of Mr. A, a man in his 50s who has been married for 10 years. Recently suspicious of his wife Ms. B's behavior, Mr. A said, "She said she was going to a company dinner and came home late, but it wasn’t even her own team’s dinner; she went to another team’s dinner as well." He continued, "It felt a bit strange, and then I got an alert from the car app saying 'car door not locked.' The engine was off, so I wondered why the door wasn’t locked." Eventually, when the alert sounded again, Mr. A went to the car’s location and checked the black box footage. The footage clearly captured his wife calling a coworker 'jagiya' (honey) and the two kissing.

The affair partner Mr. A identified was a married man with two children and a coworker of his wife. When confronted with the evidence, the wife claimed, "We didn’t kiss; we just ate ice cream." Regarding the term 'jagiya,' she denied the affair, saying, "He’s a male friend, and since it’s awkward to speak casually, we called each other 'jagi'." Instead, the wife accused Mr. A of suspicion and stalking, saying, "It’s creepy that you’re following me like this." She left home, leaving their elementary school daughter behind, rented a monthly house near her workplace, and stayed there with the affair partner. Their daughter also stayed there on weekends.

Mr. A said, "On Sunday, our daughter came back but forgot her phone at my wife’s place. When I went to return it, the affair partner was there." Ultimately, Mr. A filed for divorce against his wife and a damages lawsuit against the affair partner. However, the affair partner retaliated by indiscriminately suing Mr. A. He accused Mr. A of assault for knocking on the window after finding him at his wife’s workplace, charged him with intimidation for asking, "Where do you want to receive the summons?" in a casual tone, and also filed a stalking complaint for visiting him.

The affair partner reportedly stated, "If you drop the lawsuit first, I will drop the charges." Lawyer Park Ji-hoon, who heard the story, advised, "It is highly unlikely that the charges of assault and intimidation will hold. There is no need to be overly scared just because you were sued." He added, "You can respond with the help of an expert, and if the lawsuits are excessive, you can file a counterclaim for false accusation, which is likely to be valid."
