According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 22nd, the morning low temperatures on the 23rd are expected to range from -15 to 1 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs from 3 to 10 degrees Celsius. Since the morning lows are lower than the average (usual lows -8 to 2 degrees, highs 3 to 10 degrees), caution against the cold is advised.
The expected morning low temperatures for major cities are Seoul -6°C, Incheon -4°C, Paju -12°C, Cheorwon -15°C, Gangneung -1°C, Daejeon -5°C, Jeonju -3°C, Gwangju -2°C, Daegu -3°C, Ulsan -1°C, Busan 0°C, and Jeju 5°C.
The weather will be mostly clear nationwide, with cloudy skies in the Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island. On the west coast of Chungnam, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., and between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., there may be light raindrops less than 0.1 mm or light snow less than 0.1 cm.
Jeju Island, where a strong wind advisory is in effect, will experience very strong winds with gusts exceeding 70 km/h (over 90 km/h in mountainous areas) until dawn.
Along the east coast, high waves caused by swells may strongly hit the sandy beaches, so caution is advised for safety along the coast.
A meteorological official stated, "Strong winds will continue for the time being, making the wind chill temperature even lower," and added, "Elderly people and children with weak immune systems should avoid outdoor activities as much as possible and take care of their health."
