Focusing on Projects That Residents Can Feel... Policy for Efficient Fiscal Management
Jangseong County in Jeonnam has finalized its 2025 budget at 570.8 billion won.
On the 22nd, Jangseong County announced that it has set next year's main budget at 570.8 billion won, an 8.4% (44 billion won) increase compared to this year's budget.
The budget for next year was finalized after passing the third plenary session of the 365th Jangseong County Council's 2nd regular meeting held on the 19th.
By sector, the 'Public Administration' area includes the construction of a new council building (2.8 billion won) and the establishment of a youth center (900 million won). In the public order and safety sector, projects such as the improvement of natural disaster risk zones (13.7 billion won) and the maintenance of steep slope collapse risk areas in Naegye 2 District (1.7 billion won) are included.
In the education sector, support projects for educational institutions (1.7 billion won) and entrance congratulatory funds for elementary, middle, and high school students (160 million won) have been allocated. For culture and tourism, the budget includes hosting the Jeonnam Sports Festival and Jeonnam Para Games next year (3.3 billion won), and the Jangseongho lakeside trail tourism revitalization project (1.8 billion won).
In the environment sector, the installation of a public wastewater treatment facility in Advanced District 3 has been allocated 32.1 billion won, the largest single project. In the social welfare sector, support for senior citizen benefit vouchers (4.2 billion won) and the construction of the Samgye-myeon Youth Culture Center (2.2 billion won) have been included, while the health sector includes design service fees for the construction of a health center (1 billion won).
Other projects include the establishment of a support center for returning farmers and rural migrants (5 billion won), land acquisition for the Smart Development District (3.4 billion won), modernization of Hwangryong Traditional Market facilities (700 million won), new and renewable energy supply convergence support project (3.3 billion won), compensation for loss on remote area bus routes (1.2 billion won), construction of a connecting road between Samseo and the Gwangju border (1.2 billion won), Cheongun underpass construction project (11 billion won), and local water supply modernization project (11 billion won).
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "Despite uncertain revenue conditions such as reduced grants for two consecutive years, we have continued strong expenditure structure reforms by thoroughly eliminating wasteful spending," adding, "Next year, we will focus on projects that residents can truly feel and pursue even more efficient fiscal management."
