Banner Controversy: Na Kyung-won to Election Commission "This Fuels Suspicions of Election Fraud... People Power Party Lawmakers Become Accomplices in Treason"

On the 22nd, Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party, said, "The banners all over town accuse People Power Party lawmakers of being accomplices to treason. This is why the Central Election Commission is suspected of election fraud."

On the same day, Na posted on her social media, stating, "Treason is an ongoing investigation, and it is clear that People Power Party lawmakers are not being punished as accomplices in relation to the impeachment vote."

She argued, "Nevertheless, since the wording on these banners is allowed as political expression, it means that, contrary to the presumption of innocence, President Yoon Suk-yeol has effectively been convicted of treason, and our People Power Party lawmakers have become accomplices."

She added, "This is an unfair political attack and negative campaigning by the opposition party, who seize every opportunity to falsely accuse us of being accomplices to treason."

She further stated, "However, the phrase 'Still, Lee Jae-myung is not allowed' is considered electioneering based on the assumption that an early presidential election may occur, and thus is prohibited. The Central Election Commission, which should be the most neutral regarding the Constitutional Court's decision on impeachment, is making the most biased presumption by not only accepting the impeachment but also treating Lee Jae-myung as the Democratic Party candidate as a fait accompli."

She emphasized, "We must keep in mind that such biased behavior by the Central Election Commission undermines public trust and raises doubts about the fairness of elections."
