The Person Who Moved the Kickboard Is a Delivery Worker

A shocking scene was captured of an electric scooter parked in the middle of a crosswalk on a road in downtown Seoul.

Recently, a post titled "Scooter Parked on Crosswalk" was uploaded to the online community 'Bobae Dream.' The author, Mr. A, said, "There was a scooter parked at a four-lane intersection," and added, "I doubted my eyes for a moment." He continued, "I thought an accident might happen, so just as I was about to move it, a (delivery) driver came and moved it to the sidewalk." Mr. A expressed his gratitude to the driver, saying, "The world seems to be getting worse day by day, but because of people like you, it still feels like a livable world. Thank you, sir."

Along with the post, Mr. A uploaded several photos capturing the scene. The photos clearly showed a vehicle stopped at the stop line of the crosswalk, while an electric scooter was left alone in the middle of the crosswalk. In the last photo, a delivery driver who had briefly parked his motorcycle at the roadside was seen pulling the scooter out of the crosswalk.

Netizens who read the story could not hide their anger toward the electric scooter user. They collectively criticized the scooter user with comments such as, "Find the last person who used that scooter and punish them," "This is attempted murder," "Leaving it like that is psychopathic, trying to cause accidents for drivers," and "Such a nasty mindset." There were also comments expressing gratitude toward the delivery driver, such as "Thank you so much, sir, especially in such a time-sensitive situation. Wishing you lots of blessings."

Many netizens advised reporting the scooter user. They commented, "You can report illegal scooter parking. Just search and scan the QR code," and "If you scan the scooter's QR code and report it to Seoul City, the last user is fined, as far as I know." In fact, by accessing the 'Seoul Metropolitan Government Personal Mobility (PM) Parking Violation Reporting System,' one can scan the QR code of the illegally parked electric scooter and enter details such as the scooter company, scooter ID, and report content to file a complaint. The revised Road Traffic Act Enforcement Decree states that drivers who violate electric scooter parking rules will be fined 20,000 KRW. Additionally, if Seoul City tows an illegally parked electric scooter, a separate towing fee of 40,000 KRW will be charged.
