The Active Administration Committee of Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 20th that it had finally selected five outstanding public officials for active administration in the second half of 2024 on the 18th.
This selection was made based on applications and recommendations received from citizens and public officials from October 7 to 14. It targeted public officials who actively promoted their duties and achieved results during the merit period from January to the end of June 2024.
Meanwhile, the top case among the selected outstanding public officials for active administration was recognized for installing rainwater catchment devices in areas suffering from sewage odor around residential and commercial buildings, thereby resolving odor complaints, preventing disasters, and contributing to facility management all at once.
Additionally, cases selected as excellent included repairing and modifying the inline skating rink within the comprehensive sports complex to provide convenience to citizens, disposing of illegally dumped waste found during the vacant house maintenance project and appropriately claiming compensation from the owner to prevent public resource waste, actively promoting the expansion development project of Soyosan tourist site and the creation of a taxi rest area, and estimating the official land price for public plots where it had not been assessed to improve administrative efficiency (encouragement).
The awardees were: for the top prize, ▷Cho Bo-hoon, administrative officer of the Road Division; for excellence, ▷Lee Ji-hoon, administrative officer of the Culture and Sports Division, and Jo Ga-ram, administrative officer of the Architecture Division; and for encouragement, ▷Kang Jeong-hoon, administrative officer of the Investment Development Division, and Jeong Un-young, administrative officer of the Civil Service Division, who received this year’s honors. The five selected employees will be awarded commendations and personnel incentives.
A city official stated, “Through this selection, we will continue to create changes that citizens can feel through creative and proactive administration,” adding, “Furthermore, to improve the quality of life for citizens, we will set the direction for active administration and do our best to strengthen participation and communication in active administration together with all public officials.”
