Participation of Professors, Alumni, Students, and Staff
Legal Disputes Related to Sit-in Protest Continue
Dongduk Women's University has decided to create a committee involving student participation to publicize the issue of transitioning to a coeducational system.
According to Dongduk Women's University and the Student Council on the 20th, the university's executive team and the Student Council agreed during their fifth meeting the previous day to promote the 'Coeducation Transition Public Deliberation Committee' for six months starting from March next year.

This was proposed by the university in response to the Student Council's demand to establish a way to gather student opinions regarding the transition to coeducation.
The committee will include professors, alumni, students, and staff, and the entire process from the committee's formation to discussions will be made public to the students. Detailed matters will be discussed with the newly elected Student Council executive team next year.
In a statement released that day, the Student Council said, "We have considered at least a way for students to fully convey their opinions on the transition to coeducation to the university administration in an official setting."
Although the internal conflict at Dongduk Women's University over the transition to coeducation appears to be settling, the legal disputes between both sides following the occupation sit-in have not been resolved.
The university is reportedly maintaining its position not to withdraw the complaints filed with the police against some students related to the occupation sit-in.
