This drill was carried out after receiving a scenario of the accident situation from the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety just before the exercise, in order to evaluate the response capabilities to various accident situations at nuclear power plants.
During the drill, emergency personnel were mobilized, real-time information was shared with related organizations, power restoration and emergency water injection were performed using mobile power generators and pump trucks, and medical relief for contaminated patients was conducted, focusing on proving the effectiveness of the emergency plan and ensuring safety.
Additionally, the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission's regional office observed the emergency response facilities and the drill site, and after the drill, the inspection teams from the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety and the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences gave positive evaluations.
Jung Won-ho, head of the Wolsong Headquarters, stated, “This drill served as a valuable opportunity to enhance employees' emergency response capabilities to safely operate the plant under any extreme accident situation.”
