Active Promotion of the Nation's Only Rice Industry Special Zone
Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 20th that it participated in the '2024 Regulatory Free Zone Innovation Week' held for three days from the 17th to the 19th at the Yangjae aT Center to promote Yeoju City's rice industry special zone.

The '2024 Regulatory Free Zone Innovation Week' was hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology and the Small and Medium Business Corporation. The event was held to share excellent special zone achievements and successful commercialization support cases nationwide, as well as to expand global entry and awareness. Yeoju City participated by setting up a booth for the regional specialized development special zone.
As the only rice industry special zone in the country, Yeoju exhibited and promoted various types of rice such as brown rice and Hankki Toktok, traditional liquor brewed with Yeoju rice, rice noodles, and rice snacks made by processing Yeoju rice, attracting great interest from participants. Additionally, on the first day of the event, the 17th, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups personally visited the booth, providing a meaningful opportunity to hear directly about the special zone's operations and achievements.
A Yeoju City official stated, “As the only rice industry special zone nationwide, Yeoju has been striving to further develop the rice industry, which has maintained its reputation for a long time, and plans to continue implementing various policies for the advancement of Yeoju rice.”
