[Weather] Snow and Rain in Parts of Gwangju and Jeonnam This Weekend

This weekend, most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to see rain or snow.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 20th, rain that had been falling in some areas stopped in the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies.

On the 21st, most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience less than 5mm of rain. In the inland areas of Jeonnam, 1 to 5cm of snow is expected, and Gwangju is forecast to receive about 1cm of snow.

The morning low temperatures are expected to be 1 degree in Damyang, Suncheon, and Hwasun; 2 degrees in Gwangyang, Naju, and Yeonggwang; 3 degrees in Gwangju, Muan, and Haenam; and 4 degrees in Mokpo, Yeosu, and Wando. The daytime high temperatures will be 7 degrees in Gwangyang, Suncheon, Yeosu, Wando, and Haenam; 6 degrees in Gwangju, Naju, Muan, and Yeonggwang; and 5 degrees in Damyang, Mokpo, Yeonggwang, and Hwasun, showing a lower range than the previous day.

Waves in the sea will reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the South and West Seas. Fine dust concentrations in Gwangju and Jeonnam will remain at a 'moderate' level until the morning, improving to a 'good' level in the afternoon.

Waves in the West Sea coastal waters will reach 1 to 3 meters, and in the South Sea coastal waters, 1 to 2 meters. Fine dust concentrations in both Gwangju and Jeonnam will fluctuate between 'moderate' and 'temporarily bad' levels.

An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, "In areas where rain or snow falls, visibility will be short, and as snow accumulates, icy roads and black ice may appear, so please pay attention to traffic safety."
