The event was organized to share the active administrative achievements of Namyangju City public officials who resolved citizen inconveniences with the public, and it was also broadcast live through Namyangju City's official YouTube channel, ‘Namyangju TV’.
The competition was conducted by presenting 12 outstanding cases that passed the preliminary round out of 62 active administration cases submitted by each department.
In particular, the judging method was a ‘citizen participation type’ where citizens directly evaluated administrative achievements. The city selected the final outstanding cases by combining the evaluation scores from an on-site judging panel composed of 20 citizens representing various fields such as welfare, youth, and economy, with real-time evaluation scores from citizens watching the live broadcast.
As a result of the heated competition, the grand prize was awarded to the Park Management Division’s ‘Sustainable Garden Created Together with Citizens.’
The excellence awards went to △Youth Policy Division’s ‘From a Space for 14 People to a Space for 170,000 People’ △Sewage Treatment Division’s ‘Nation’s First Patent Acquisition for Smart Integrated Sewage Control System’ △Joan-myeon’s ‘A Rest for Body and Mind, Establishment of Joan-myeon’s First Resident Healing Center.’
Additionally, the merit awards were given to four departments including the Real Estate Management Division for ‘A New Way for the City to Communicate, Smart Address Information Facility,’ and the encouragement awards were given to four departments including the Welfare Policy Division for ‘Click to Donate! Donation Kiosk.’
Employees selected as outstanding active administration public officials on this day will receive preferential treatment in personnel matters such as additional personnel points, S-grade performance pay, and desired transfers, along with exceptional incentives including overseas training, prize money, and special leave.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, who attended the competition, emphasized, “It is most important that public officials boldly innovate outdated practices in line with changing times and actively solve problems on the ground,” and urged, “Please listen first to the voices of citizens and do your best to carry out citizen-centered and field-centered active administration that citizens can feel.”
Meanwhile, starting in 2025, the city plans to focus administrative efforts on promoting better active administration by establishing a rapid advisory body called the ‘Pro-mokmingwan System,’ composed of veteran public officials in each field, to provide swift consultation and resolution for difficulties in civil complaint processing such as permits and approvals.
