The People Power Party announced on the 20th that it will participate in the 'Ruling and Opposition Council' proposed by National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik.

Kwon Seong-dong, acting leader and floor leader of the People Power Party, told reporters on the same day, "We have decided to participate in the ruling-opposition-government council for discussions on livelihood and security," adding, "We are currently discussing the composition of the members with the Speaker."

Kwon explained that they are participating in the ruling-opposition-government council mentioned by Speaker Woo, not the 'National Stability Council' proposed by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea. Earlier, on the 15th, Speaker Woo met with Han Duck-soo, Acting President and Prime Minister, during his visit to the National Assembly and said, "It is important to establish and promptly activate a national council between the National Assembly and the government."

Kwon also stated, "The People Power Party has decided to participate in the overseas delegation of National Assembly members promoted by the Speaker." Accordingly, members of the People Power Party are expected to support the 'bipartisan special envoy delegation' that Speaker Woo is preparing to minimize diplomatic gaps.

However, Kwon expressed disagreement regarding the National Assembly's state affairs investigation related to the declaration of martial law, which Speaker Woo is promoting. Although Speaker Woo requested the submission of a list of special committee members for the state affairs investigation by today, Kwon said, "It seems it will be delayed."
