Electric vehicle fast charging network Water has introduced the first drive-thru style F&B (food and beverage) store combined with an electric vehicle fast charging station in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

On the 20th, Water announced the official opening of the electric vehicle charging station 'Water Burger King Jeju Aewol DT' in Jeju Island and the commencement of commercial operation of six 200kW fast chargers. Water purchased a 2,269m² land in the Sin-eom-ri area of Aewol-eup, Jeju City, Jeju Island, and signed a 10-year lease contract with BKR, the domestic operator of Burger King.

'Water Burger King Jeju Aewol DT' is easily accessible from Iljuseo-ro, a major road in Jeju, and is expected to satisfy both the electric vehicle charging and rest needs of tourists traveling from Jeju Airport to Aewol, Seogwipo, and Hallasan areas.

Lee Dong-yoon, head of business development at Bright Energy Partners' electric vehicle charging division (Water), who led the development of this project, said, "At Water Burger King Jeju Aewol DT, drivers can charge their electric vehicles while satisfying their hunger with hamburgers and drinks, enjoying the surrounding scenery of Jeju Island through the store's large windows." He added, "Also, vehicles visiting the store can wait within the spacious building site without significantly affecting the flow of surrounding traffic."
