The Busan Green Environment Support Center at Pukyong National University held an "ESG Workshop for the Sustainable Development of Busan's Environmental Industry" on the afternoon of the 16th in the main conference room on the first floor of the Environmental Marine Hall.

This workshop was organized to share ESG environmental policies and the current status of new technology research, and to explore development directions for the sustainable growth of local Busan companies and securing environmental competitiveness.
The event began with an opening address by Center Director Lee Tae-yoon, followed by congratulatory remarks from Pukyong National University Vice President for Academic Affairs Lee Min-hee and Busan Metropolitan City Council Welfare and Environment Committee member Seong Hyun-dal.
Next, the Busan Green Environment Support Center presented plaques of appreciation to Council member Seong Hyun-dal for his contributions to regional environmental improvement and the center’s development, and to Nam Kwang-hee, chairman of the Nakdong River Basin Water Management Committee, for his significant contributions to creating a safe and healthy water environment.
Following this, in the field of ESG environmental policy, Chairman Nam Kwang-hee gave a presentation titled "The Necessity and Trends of ESG Management," and Professor Han Hee-jin (Global Interdisciplinary Major) of Pukyong National University presented on "Climate Change and Climate Disclosure."
In the new technology research field, Professor Nam Ki-jeon (Environmental Engineering Major) of Pukyong National University delivered a presentation on "Current Status of AI Utilization in the Environmental Sector ? Environmental Water Management and Industrial Digitalization Using AI," followed by Professor Lee Jun-yeop (Environmental Engineering Major) of Pukyong National University presenting the Busan Green Environment Support Center’s 2024 outstanding research and development project titled "Optimization of Chemical Injection and Discovery of Excellent Seed Plants to Increase Organic Sludge Treatment and Biogas Production at Busan Sewage Treatment Plants."
After the presentations, environmental industry companies such as Renewus and Isan participated, introducing their companies and promoting recruitment of environmental talent, which received enthusiastic responses from university students in related fields attending the event.
Lee Tae-yoon, director of the Busan Green Environment Support Center, stated, "The center has continuously strived for the conservation of Busan’s environment and a sustainable future. Through this workshop, we expect it to be an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of ESG management and to explore directions for the harmonious development of the local environment and economy."
