"Mutual Cooperation for Space Industry Development and Infrastructure Building"
Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor: Gong Youngmin) announced on the 20th that it had signed a three-party business agreement with Jeollanam-do and Hyundai Rotem at the Sapphire Hall of Koreana Hotel in Seoul for the successful establishment of a space launch vehicle industry cluster.
At the signing ceremony, Gong Youngmin, Governor of Goheung-gun, Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, and Lee Yongbae, President of Hyundai Rotem, attended and agreed to cooperate for the establishment of a space launch vehicle industry cluster and the promotion of the space industry in Goheung-gun, which has been designated as a specialized zone for launch vehicles.

According to the agreement, Hyundai Rotem, Jeollanam-do, and Goheung-gun will establish a close cooperation system for ▲ cooperation in building the Goheung space launch vehicle industry cluster ▲ creation of space launch vehicle industry infrastructure and technology development ▲ discovery and promotion of joint projects in the space sector.
Gong Youngmin, Governor of Goheung-gun, emphasized his commitment to supporting businesses, saying, "Hyundai Rotem, which has secured various experiences and technological capabilities such as the development of the country's first methane engine and participation in the Nuriho development project, will lead the launch vehicle market in the future," and "We will do our best to provide administrative support for technology development and improve residential conditions so that Hyundai Rotem can secure global competitiveness in the space business."
Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, stated, "The role and cooperation of Hyundai Rotem are more important than ever to strengthen the national competitiveness of the space launch vehicle industry," and added, "We will do our utmost to cooperate in establishing the full cycle of the space industry, including infrastructure construction, technology development, human resource training, and data utilization, so that Goheung, Jeollanam-do, can not only succeed as a space launch vehicle cluster but also become a forward base for the world's top five space powers."
Lee Yongbae, President of Hyundai Rotem, said, "In line with government policy directions, we will closely cooperate with Jeollanam-do and Goheung-gun in establishing the national space launch vehicle industrial complex and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic space industry."
Meanwhile, the Goheung National Space Launch Vehicle Industrial Complex (460,000 pyeong), which was confirmed as a project exempt from preliminary feasibility study in June, is scheduled to begin a survey and design service at the end of this month. In addition, the construction projects for the private launch site and the launch vehicle technology commercialization center, which are key infrastructures for the space launch vehicle industry, completed their feasibility review in July and will proceed without delay.
