Korea Midland Power's Boryeong Power Plant announced on the 20th that it held a completion ceremony for the 24th "Hope Nest" on the 19th.
The Nest Project has been promoted since 2007 to provide comfortable housing for vulnerable families living near the power plant who suffer from poor residential environments.
The beneficiary of this 24th house is a senior citizen living alone in Jupo-myeon, whose home was in poor condition with inadequate heating and cooling.
Boryeong Power Plant renovated Mr. A's home as an energy-saving, eco-friendly house by installing environmentally friendly wallpaper, LED lights, and a residential solar power system to reduce carbon emissions.
Lee Woongcheon, Head of the Boryeong Power Plant, said, "I feel a great sense of fulfillment that we could provide a safe home for the senior citizen as winter approaches," adding, "Our company's Habitat project, the Nest Project, is especially meaningful as it is carried out in cooperation with local governments and social welfare organizations. We will continue to actively work to improve the quality of life for local residents."
