Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, received a commendation in the field of educational cooperation at the '40th Gyeonggi Education Awards Ceremony' held at the Southern Office of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education on the 19th.

The 'Gyeonggi Education Award' is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to achieving the policy goals of Gyeonggi education, the development of educational autonomy, and the improvement of educational conditions.
Mayor Kim has enabled students to nurture their dreams in an optimal environment through various public education support programs and school facility improvements. She received the award for enhancing the city's educational competitiveness through various future education cooperation projects such as the 'Youth Career Experience Expo,' 'Entrance Exam Expo,' and 'Interview Consulting,' providing students with diverse opportunities to explore career paths.
Meanwhile, Icheon City was selected in August for the school complex facility contest project hosted by the Ministry of Education, securing 18.5 billion KRW in national funding. Last month, it received preliminary designation in the first phase for the new designation of the 'Gyeonggi-type Science High School' promoted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.
Mayor Kim said, "We will do our best to improve the quality of education by promoting various support projects for students' future education and to help students grow in a better learning environment."
