Two Consecutive Years of Grade Improvement, Establishing as an Excellent Integrity Institution
Comprehensive Integrity Awareness Enhancement Activities ... Achieving 'Grade 2'
Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop) achieved a Grade 2 rating in the '2024 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This is the best result since the comprehensive integrity evaluation system was implemented in 2022.

The comprehensive integrity evaluation was conducted on 460 public institutions nationwide, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public-related organizations. Korea National Oil Corporation improved its rating by one grade for two consecutive years, achieving a Grade 2 in comprehensive integrity and establishing itself as an excellent institution in integrity.
This achievement is attributed to the high scores received in the 'Integrity Perception' category, which is evaluated by internal and external stakeholders.
The background of this success includes the cooperation of the corporation’s senior anti-corruption council, led by President Kim Dong-seop and Standing Auditor Park Gong-woo, who rolled up their sleeves to improve integrity.
President Kim Dong-seop declared “mutual respect” as the core management philosophy and pledged, “I will lead by example with respect.” He actively communicated with groups including women, lower-ranking employees, and branch office staff to listen to their concerns and prevent workplace power abuse.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission evaluated President Kim’s efforts positively, stating that “the ripple effect of senior leadership’s integrity is favorable,” and awarded a perfect score of 100 in the ‘Leader’s Interest and Effort’ category.
Additionally, Standing Auditor Park Gong-woo has promoted ‘harmony and consideration, system maintenance, and a shift to preventive audits’ as his audit philosophy, actively engaging in communication on anti-corruption and integrity themes with diverse members ranging from the MZ generation to department heads and staff.
Since his appointment in December last year, he has visited the headquarters, nine petroleum stockpiling branches, and petroleum development project sites to conduct two-way communication with employees on topics such as the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
Korea National Oil Corporation stated, “This achievement is the result of continuous efforts led by the institution’s leadership to strengthen ethical management and the audit department’s efforts to spread an anti-corruption and integrity culture.” It added, “We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities as a trusted public enterprise.”
