Taebaek City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Lee Sang-ho), announced on the 20th that Taebaek City won the Grand Prize in the 2024 Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation.

The Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of the operation of local taxes and non-tax revenues imposition and collection, tax audits, village tax accountants, and payment convenience policies for securing local finances, conducted on 18 cities and counties within the province. A total of 10 excellent cities and counties are selected and awarded.
A Taebaek City official stated, "Despite difficult conditions such as economic recession, Taebaek City was able to win the Grand Prize through efforts to expand local finances," and added, "We thank the citizens for their active and voluntary tax payments, and we will continue to strive to enhance citizens' convenience and provide trustworthy tax administration."
Meanwhile, as a result of winning the Grand Prize in this Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation, Taebaek City received a commendation from the Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province along with a prize money of 5 million won.
