On the 20th, the KCC announced that the Korea Information and Communication Promotion Association will open and operate an AI service user damage reporting window on the 'Online Damage 365 Center' website.

As social concerns about side effects and damages related to AI development grow, the need for a user protection response system has emerged, leading to the establishment of a new reporting channel.

Expected damages to AI service users include ▲defamation, infringement of copyrights and personal information ▲generation and distribution of discriminatory and hateful content ▲digital sex crimes such as deepfakes ▲cyber financial crimes ▲refusal of subscription and poor quality ▲billing complaints and failure to notify important matters ▲poor and substandard content quality.

The reporting window is divided into two functions: ▲AI damage reporting, which allows users to report damages caused by AI technology and service-related crimes, and ▲AI inconvenience reporting, which enables users to report inconveniences or complaints related to AI service use.

Before filing an AI damage report, users can receive related consultation on the damage reporting procedure via the 365 Center phone or KakaoTalk channel. After a report is received, a counselor will verify and guide appropriate response and measures according to the type of damage and provide follow-up management.

Shin Young-gyu, Director of the Broadcasting and Communications User Policy Bureau at the KCC, stated, "Through the operation of the AI service damage reporting window, we will proactively protect users from the risks and side effects of AI technology, while also striving to encourage companies to build trust and develop better services."
